The dKon brtsegs, or Ratnakuta sutra group, comprises a collection of Mahayana sutras that explore themes such as meditation, altruism, ultimate truth, and Bodhisattva practice. This particular collection consists of six volumes, presented in a loose poti format, with the content inscribed in uchen script using black ink on cream-colored Bhutanese handmade paper. Each volume’s first page is especially striking, written in gold ink on dark blue paper, adorned with two miniature depictions of the Buddha gracefully positioned along the margins, reflecting the artistry and devotion of its creators. Preserved as a sacred relic, the dKon brtsegs collection occupies a revered place on the traditional bookshelves within the temple. Carefully safeguarded, it is wrapped in multiple layers of cloth and shielded by two wooden boards, securely fastened with a belt. This meticulous preservation ensures the sanctity of the collection, honoring its spiritual significance and ensuring its legacy is protected for future generations.
Extent: 6 volumes of manuscripts.
