The mDo sde section of the Kanjur encompasses an extensive array of sutras, including foundational teachings and those focusing on distinct Mahayana topics and themes. This collection is presented in 37 volumes, preserved in the traditional poti format. Each volume is meticulously inscribed in uchen script with black ink on cream-colored Bhutanese handmade paper. The first page of every volume is particularly exquisite, written in gold ink on dark blue paper and adorned with two miniature depictions of the Buddha gracefully placed along the margins, embodying the devotion and artistry of its creators. Regarded as a sacred relic, the mDo sde collection is carefully housed on traditional wooden bookshelves within the temple. Each volume is wrapped in multiple layers of cloth and protected by two sturdy wooden boards, securely fastened with a belt. This meticulous preservation not only reflects the profound reverence for the collection but also ensures its sanctity and endurance for future generations.
