Sabujpatra was first published on 25th Baishakh 1321 BS (1914) and edited by Pramatha Chaudhuri. Rabindranath Tagore inspired him to publish such a journal. Though short-lived, Sabujpatra was a major force in shaping Bangla language and literary style for the post-First World War generation. Pramatha Choudhury tried to introduce new literary ideals. Sadharan Brahmo Samaj inherited these philosophy with more devotion towards society. The library of Sadharan Brahmo Samaj was founded in 1879. This library is having a collection of over 25,000 rare books and periodicals mainly for periods covering 1850 to 1950.
