This manuscript is a reworking or translation of the Mintaraga or Arjunawiwaha tale, originally composed in Kawi by Mpu Kanwa, and later adapted during the reign of Pakubuwana III. The first part recounts how Niwata Kawaca plans to attack Heaven (Kahyangan), prompting the gods to search for a champion among mortals. The middle section follows Arjuna and Supraba as they travel along the ocean’s edge, encounter a row of eggs, and meet a wild elephant and a musk deer in the forest. The final part depicts Arjuna’s inner conflict as he considers how to tell Subadra that he has taken another wife.
