This serat opens with a narrative about the kingdom of Mamenang, beginning with a genealogy in which nearly all the figures bear the prefix Arya in their names. In the middle section, the story follows Waktra and Bargu, who journey while chanting songs and playing the flute; their music draws the attention of listeners, who are compelled to follow and watch them. The final part recounts an episode set in Alas Kondha Bumi, where Bathara Kalayuwana sees a buffalo, but what appears to his eyes is instead a beautiful woman. The two beings engage in a dialogue, during which the woman claims to be a heavenly nymph (bidadari).
