Jerusalem sous terre. Les récentes fouilles d'Ophe

This book sheds light on the origins and ancient history of Jerusalem during ten to twelve months of painstaking and highly skilled excavations on the small southern hill of Jerusalem called the Ophel. It includes: First, a quick overview of the history of this scientific mission; Second, a brief presentation of the archaeological findings alone; Third, some conclusions drawn from these new facts. We see at once the very different character of the three parts of this note: the first is necessarily very brief and aims only at a kind of exposition of the prospectors and their method; The second consists exclusively of technical data that is as accurate as possible; The third, on the contrary, is devoted to certain conclusions that would be open to anyone willing to examine the merits and discuss value if those conclusions did not seem to flow spontaneously from the facts. After use, the main concern was to facilitate all possible control for the reader by means of detailed graphics.
