In the Buddha’s time, there was a danger with people of Aranyakham village. Many people died with cholera. They came to the Buddha while staying at the Veluvanna monastery and asked him for help to stop the disease. The Buddha accompanied with Ananda Thera and other monks went to the village. On the next day, the people brought food and water to offer the Buddha and monks. After meal, they dedicated the merit of offerings to the spirits of lands, of buildings, and sambhavesi (spirit seeking rebirth). Thereafter the situation became normal. Colophon: Folio 21 on the recto side: Sangkatrasa (BE) 2466, a ka khai year, on the third day of the waxing moon of the ninth lunar month, the first day of the week (Sunday), the writing was accomplished at the time of kòng laeng (between 15.00–16.30 o’clock). Xiang Pan and his wife Sao Yu had the ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript entitled Anulom to support the Teachings of the Buddha. May all our wishes and desires come true. May we prosperity and happiness come to the learners who read this manuscript forever.
