ໃນຊາດໜຶ່ງ ພະໂພທິສັດໄດ້ເກີດເປັນຊາຍທຸກຄະຕະໃນຄອບຄົວທຸກຍາກເຂັນໃຈ. ເມື່ອໃຫຍ່ຂຶ້ນມາພະໂພທິສັດກໍ່ໄດ້ລ້ຽງດູພໍ່ແມ່ເປັນຢ່າງດີ ເມື່ອພໍ່ເສຍຊີວິດແລ້ວ ພະໂພທິສັດໄດ້ພາແມ່ເດີນທາງໄປກັບເຮືອສໍາເພາ ເພື່ອໄປຍັງເມືອງສຸວັນນະພູມ ເພື່ອໃຫ້ມີຊີວິດທີ່ດີຂຶ້ນ. ເມື່ອເຮືອສະເພົາແລ່ນໄປຮອດກາງມະຫາສະມຸດກໍ່ພົບກັບລົມພະຍຸ ເຮັດໃຫ້ເຮືອແຕກແລະຈົມລົງ. ຜູ້ໂດຍສານຄົນອື່ນໆ ໄດ້ເສຍຊີວິດໝົດ ຍັງເຫຼືອແຕ່ສອງແມ່ລູກທີ່ລອຍຄໍຢູ່ກາງມະຫາສະມຸດ. ພະໂພທິສັດໃຫ້ແມ່ຂີ່ຄໍຕົນແລະຕັ້ງໃຈຈະພາແມ່ໃຫ້ເຖິງຝັ່ງ. ດ້ວຍຄວາມດີອັນນີ້ ໂພທິສັດກໍ່ຕັ້ງຈິດປາດຖະໜາເປັນພະພຸດທະເຈົ້າໃນອະນາຄົດ ໃນທ່າມກາງຄື້ນມະຫາສະມຸດ. ດ້ວຍອານຸພາບແຫ່ງຄວາມປາດຖະໜານັ້ນ ໃນທີ່ສຸດທັງສອງຄົນກໍ່ລອຍເຖິງຝັ່ງໂດຍປອດໄພ. ເມື່ອຕາຍຈາກຊາດນັ້ນ ພະໂພທິສັດ ກໍ່ໄດ້ເກີດໃນສະຫວັນດາວະດຶງສະເຫວີຍທິບພະສົມບັດ. ຄໍາລົງທ້າຍ: ລານທີ່ ໒໑ ໜ້າ ໑: ຈຸນລະສັງກາດໄດ້ ໑໒໑໖ ຕົວ ປີ ກາບຍີ່ ເດືອນ ໔ ຂຶ້ນຄໍ່າ ໑ ວັນ ໖ ມື້ກາບໃຈ້ ລິດຈະນາແລ້ວຍາມແຖໃກ້ທ່ຽງ ໝາຍມີ ເຈົ້າສັງຄະຣາຊາຕິດຊະປັນຍາ ມີສັດທາສ້າງ ໂສທັນດະນີ ໓ ໄຕໄວ້ກັບສາສະໜາ ພະພຸດທະເຈົ້າຕາບຕໍ່ເທົ້າ ໕ ພັນວັດສາ ຂໍໃຫ້ໄດ້ດັ່ງຄໍາມັກຄໍາປາດຖະໜາ ນິບພານະ ປັດຈະໂຍ ໂຫຕຸ ໂນ ທຸວັງ ດັ່ງນີ້ກໍ່ຂ້າເທີ້ນ.
In a previous life, the Bodhisatta was born as a poor boy in a poorest family. When he grew up he took a good care of his parents. After death of his father, the Bodhisatta took his mother with him travelling with a junk to Suvannaphum city for their better life. When the junk was travelling on the sea, it confronted with a heavy storm. The junk was broken and sunk. All passengers died. Only the Bodhisatta and his mother were floating. The Bodhisatta put his mother on his neck and swam to the bank. Due to this good deed, the Bodhisatta wished to become a Buddha in the future. The power of the wish, they both arrived at the bank safely. After death, the Bodhisatta was reborn in Tavatimsa heaven with heavenly property. Colophon: Folio 21 on the recto side: Chunlasangkat 1216, a kap nyi year, the first day of the waxing moon of the fourth lunar month, the sixth day of the week (Friday), and a kap chai day. The writing was accomplished at the time of the thae kai thiang (between 9.00–10.30 o’clock). Chao Sangkharasa (Great abbot) Titsapannya had the religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript entitled Sothandani 3 tai for the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May my wishes come true. May this be a condition for us to reach Nibbāna certainly.
