The content tells the power of Metteyya Sutta. Once, the Buddha spoke to Venerable Sariputta that aftef 5000 years of his Teachings, the people will become more jearous. They will kill each other. That time is called kaliyuka (chaos) or dark age. By the power of this Metteyyasut, whoever listened to it, written it by himself, or hired someone else to write it for him, memorised it, taught it to others, worshiped and respected it, will be free from all sufferings and dangers. Colophon: Folio 20 on the recto side: Sisatta Buarabat Cunlasangkat 1237, a hap khai year, the sixth day of the waning moon of the second lunar month, and the first day of the week (Sunday). The writing of this manuscript was accomplished in late morning (between 9.00–10.30 o’clock). Maharasabupphit (the king) of the front palace had the ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript-bundle entitled Metteyyasut, to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May we all see the face of Pha Si Ariyamettey who will come the future definitely. May we enter the crystal city that is Nibbāna. Amen, amen, amen.
