Puruṣārthaprabodha (= Vedārthasaṃgraha)

Puruṣārthaprabodha (= Vedārthasaṃgraha) by Brahmānanda Sarasvatī (/ Brahmānanda Bhāratī), a disciple of Rāmararāja Sarasvatī and Sadāśivatīrtha. The text is divided into 16 adhyāyas, divided into three aṃśas. It is a little-known work. Most probably a South Indian author. Transcript of the work found in GOML (no. 3309) and in Thripunittura (no. T 266). Another copy is found in TBM, but could not be located yet (old, damaged). Author mentioned in Thangaswami (no. 335̄), one of the early authors mixing Vedānta and Śaivism, between 1500 and 1600. Early edition in Grantha script (Chidambaram, 1907), found in IFP (DHAR 0277), maybe digitised. Article and thesis on the text, including new edition, by Ushus Unnikrishnan (part A images 0005-0334). Mahāvākyārthanirṇaya attributed to Śaṅkara. End colophon mentions 'Bodhotpattiprakaraṇa'; no other divisions identified (part B images 0335-0340). Vākyavṛttiprakāśikā by Viśveśvara Paṇḍita. The author mentions Mādhava as his prajñāguru (part C images 0341-0361). Vedāntasāra by Sadānanda (part D images 0363-0382). Extract from the Aṣṭāṅgahṛdayasaṃhitā by Vāgbhaṭa. Incomplete. It comprises only the 1st and 2nd adhyāya. (part E images 0385-0398). The bundle also comprises one stray leaf discussing Āyurvedic treatment, to be found at the end.
