Saundryavati Shakya Collection

This collection belongs to a Buddhist family migrated during the early modern period from Kathmandu to Tansen in Palpa. A small Buddhist Newar community exist in this town. They did every effort to keep alive Newar Buddhist culture out of core Newar civilization. Therefore, they still possess Buddhist texts and perform rituals. This collection is one of the important collections in Palpa, a hilly Newar town in western Nepal.
