The personal collection of B.Ansar of Nagarcoil. Contains some rare books mainly in the category of Islamic Literature, Mathematics, Medicine, History and Theology. The books are in three languages - Arabic, Arabic Tamil and Tamil. Some of the documents are of importance of transregional to South Asia. Most of the documents are from the ancestors of B.Ansar and preserved by the family. The documents are not catalogued and not well preserved. But kept in the house in some almirahs. Some of the books are very rare but in fragile condition requring urgent conservesion process.
Custodial history: The documents and books were inherited by the family of B.Ansar. The family was in religious teaching and some were in trade. A few books had been presented to the individual by his relatives in the locality.
Arrangement: The collections are under the ownership of B.Ansar.Some books are kept in cloth bags. No scientific method is followed to protect the books from the attack of moths and insects.No subject wise classification. Just arranged in the shelf.Require urgent preservation.
