Custodial history: The Ukrainian National Museum in Lviv was founded in 1905 by the Greek Catholic Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky as a private foundationcalled the "Church Museum" for the development of Ukrainian culture. In 1913, it was presented as a gift to the Ukrainian people by a solemn act. The work on organizing the museum and completing the collections was led by Ilarion Sventsitsky, a famous historian, Slavist, and art critic, who later became the museum's long-time director (1905–1952). In December 1909, the museum was renamed the "National Museum of Metropolitan Andrei, Count of Sheptychy Sheptytsky", and on July 11, 1911, it was renamed the "National Museum. Jubilee Scientific Foundation of Galician Metropolitan Andrei Sheptytsky". In the 1930s, the museum's collections numbered more than 80,000 exhibits. After the end of World War II, the museum was replenished with collections from museums closed by the Soviet authorities, in particular, the museums of the Stavropegia Institute, the Lviv Metropolis of the UGCC, the Prosvita Society, the National School of Arts, the People's House, the Theological Scientific Society, and the library of the Basilian Fathers. The museum was renamed the "State Museum of Ukrainian Art", later the "Lviv Museum of Ukrainian Art". Since 1991 — "National Museum in Lviv. Scientific and Artistic Fund of Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky." In 2005, the National Museum received its current name, the Andrey Sheptytsky National Museum in Lviv. The Ukrainian National Museum in Lviv fund was transferred to the Central State Archives in Lviv from the Lviv State Museum of Ukrainian Art in Lviv on September 20, 1955, as part of 500 kg of loose material, from which a number of funds were later formed (including Fund 663, 664, 681 and others). In 1961, the fund was described according to the so-called shortened cycle and received the number 750. At that time, Fund 750 had 6 storage units. In 1970 and 1986, the fund underwent scientific and technical processing, during which the number of cases was increased. As of January 1, 2025, Fund 750 has 12 cases.
