Custodial history: From the beginning of the activity of the Society in Lviv in 1881, the office of the society kept books of minutes of meetings of the board and commissions of the society, texts of directive materials (instructions, regulations, announcements), documents of reporting and organization of current work, information on the organizational status and activities of the society, registration of established branches, correspondence. From 1881 to 1912, the society was called the "Russkie Tovaristvo Pedagogicheński" (RTP). In 1912, it was renamed the "Ukrainian Pedagogical Society" (UPT), and in 1926, the "Ridna Shkola". Members of the society worked to solve the problems of education of the Ukrainian population (primary school, secondary school, higher education). The society published children's literature, the magazine "Dzvinok" (1892–1914), the magazine "Uchytel" (1889–1914), school textbooks and reading books, and an annual calendar. The Society's activities were terminated in 1939 by the Soviet authorities. The fund of the Ukrainian Pedagogical Society "Ridna Shkola" (October 29, 1881 - March 15, 1939) was transferred to the Lviv Regional State Archive (current name - State Archive of the Lviv Region) under the Archival Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Lviv Region on the basis of the Resolution of the Presidium of the Lviv Regional Executive Committee of October 5, 1940, which obliged all institutions and enterprises in whose premises archival materials remained to transfer them to the Archival Bodies of the People's Commissariat of Internal Affairs of the USSR within a two-week period. The fund was registered on August 15, 1949 with the assignment of number No. 252с/731. The fund was transferred to the Central State Archive of Ukraine in Lviv as a result of the separation from the State Archive of the Lviv Region in 1951. in the form of a loose collection (700 kg) in 44 funds according to act No. 2 of March 5, 1951. In 1951 - 1952, the documents of the fund were described according to the so-called shortened cycle. 3 descriptions were formed with a total of 1771 storage units. In 1962, 1979, 1989, 2017, the fund was replenished with separate, relevant cases. During 1968 - 1974, the fund was processed, one description was formed from three descriptions. As of January 1, 2025, the fund has 2728 storage units.
