Transferring the dead to the afterlife

Cham manuscript made of palm leaves. Each cover of the manuscript was pierced with holes and attached with two small round strips of wood to hold the two ends of palm leaves. Each palm leaf was pierced with holes in the same position of the holes of the cover. The two covers were made of wood to hold the manuscript; thread was also used, in the middle of the manuscript. Each page was numbered in order. The writing was carved sharply on palm surface, then made with bold strokes of resin ink. The manuscript is written in Akhar Thrah script. The manuscript is in good condition. This manuscript covers the theme of religion. Contents: transferring the dead to the afterlife. Size: 28 x 4,5 x 3 cm.

The manuscript belonged to Mr. Bac Bich Van Nhuan, Tuy Phong District, Binh Thuan Province, then was donated to the Center. At present, the Center is displaying this manuscript.
