Tantrasāra - Śaka 1708 [1786] (f. 309v)

Manuscript is used for contemplation, study, meditation, and recitation and is one author's interpretation of what constitutes the essence (sāra) of Tantra, from a particularly Bengali perspective; has a focus on the goddess Kālī and the Śakta (female, divine energy) influence on Tantric tradition. Opening of text is a table of contents (f. i-ii) which is followed by a series of sacred diagrams (yantras) (f. iii-vii) of which one is painted (f. iii-verso). Photos for folios 6 recto and 263 recto are missing. Cotton and wood pulp paper; fair condition, unbound. 12 x 49 cm; 302 folios with woodend cover and supplementary notes.
