Aseguro de capellanía

Pledge of chaplaincy with which Violanta Duarte, widow of Antonio de Acevedo, guaranteed the support of her grandson José Quintero, minor sacristan, who had no estate. Among her assets, valued at 1,200 pesos, was an enslaved male named José, valued at 300 gold pesos; as well as a house, a sugar mill, cane fields, horses, and crop fields of corn and plantain.

Aseguro de capellanía con el que Violanta Duarte, viuda de Antonio de Acevedo, garantizó el sustento de su nieto José Quintero, sacristán menor, quien carecía de patrimonio. Dentro de sus bienes, avaluados en 1,200 pesos, se encontraba un esclavizado llamado José, avaluado en 300 pesos de oro; así como una casa, un trapiche, cañaduzales, caballos y sementeras de maíz y plátano.

Extent: 5 paper folios.

Condition of original material: Regular state of preservation. The spine is very deteriorated, with paper on the inside that reinforces the front and back covers. The margins are irregular and stained. Some leaves have signs of humidity (stains) and the handwriting is blurred, making the contents partially illegible.
