ໂສທັນດະນີ (ຜູກ ໒)

ໃນຊາດໜຶ່ງ ພະໂພທິສັດໄດ້ເກີດເປັນຊາຍທຸກຄະຕະໃນຄອບຄົວທຸກຍາກເຂັນໃຈ. ເມື່ອໃຫຍ່ຂຶ້ນມາພະໂພທິສັດກໍ່ໄດ້ລ້ຽງດູພໍ່ແມ່ເປັນຢ່າງດີ ເມື່ອພໍ່ເສຍຊີວິດແລ້ວ ພະໂພທິສັດໄດ້ພາແມ່ເດີນທາງໄປກັບເຮືອສໍາເພາ ເພື່ອໄປຍັງເມືອງສຸວັນນະພູມ ເພື່ອໃຫ້ມີຊີວິດທີ່ດີຂຶ້ນ. ເມື່ອເຮືອສະເພົາແລ່ນໄປຮອດກາງມະຫາສະມຸດກໍ່ພົບກັບລົມພະຍຸ ເຮັດໃຫ້ເຮືອແຕກແລະຈົມລົງ. ຜູ້ໂດຍສານຄົນອື່ນໆ ໄດ້ເສຍຊີວິດໝົດ ຍັງເຫຼືອແຕ່ສອງແມ່ລູກທີ່ລອຍຄໍຢູ່ກາງມະຫາສະມຸດ. ພະໂພທິສັດໃຫ້ແມ່ຂີ່ຄໍຕົນແລະຕັ້ງໃຈຈະພາແມ່ໃຫ້ເຖິງຝັ່ງ. ດ້ວຍຄວາມດີອັນນີ້ ໂພທິສັດກໍ່ຕັ້ງຈິດປາດຖະໜາເປັນພະພຸດທະເຈົ້າໃນອະນາຄົດ ໃນທ່າມກາງຄື້ນມະຫາສະມຸດ. ດ້ວຍອານຸພາບແຫ່ງຄວາມປາດຖະໜານັ້ນ ໃນທີ່ສຸດທັງສອງຄົນກໍ່ລອຍເຖິງຝັ່ງໂດຍປອດໄພ. ເມື່ອຕາຍຈາກຊາດນັ້ນ ພະໂພທິສັດ ກໍ່ໄດ້ເກີດໃນສະຫວັນດາວະດຶງສະເຫວີຍທິບພະສົມບັດ. ຄໍາລົງທ້າຍ: ລານທີ ໒໓ ໜ້າ ໑: ສັງກາດຣາຊະ ໑໖໖ (ກົງກັບ ຈ.ສ. ໑໑໖໖) ຕົວ ປີກາບໃຈ້ ເດືອນ ໘ ຂຶ້ນ ໔ ຄໍ່າ ວັນ ໒ ມື້ເຕົ່າສີ່ ຣິດຈະນາແລ້ວຍາມກອງງາຍ ມີ ພະຣາຊະສັດທາ ສ້າງ ໂສທັນດະນີ ມະຫານິທານ ໄວ້ກັບສາສະໜາ ນິບພານະ ປັດຈະໂຍ ໂຫຕຸ ທຸວັງໆ.

In a previous life, the Bodhisatta was born as a poor boy in a poorest family. When he grew up he took a good care of his parents. After death of his father, the Bodhisatta took his mother with him travelling with a junk to Suvannaphum city for their better life. When the junk was travelling on the sea, it confronted with a heavy storm. The junk was broken and sunk. All passengers died. Only the Bodhisatta and his mother were floating. The Bodhisatta put his mother on his neck and swam to the bank. Due to this good deed, the Bodhisatta wished to become a Buddha in the future. The power of the wish, they both arrived at the bank safely. After death, the Bodhisatta was reborn in Tavatimsa heaven with havenly property. Colophon: Folio 23 on the recto side: Sangkatrasa 166 (corresponding with CS 1166), a kap chai year, on the fourth day of the waxing moon of the eighth lunar month, a tao si day, the writing was accomplished at the time of kòng ngai (between 7.30–9.00 o;clock). The king had the religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript entitled Sothandani (Sodantanī), the great tale, to support the Teachings of the Buddha. May this be a condition to reach Nirvana certainly.
