The content tells about Arittha Jataka. Once upon a time, the Bodhisatta was born as the royal son of King Brahmadata of the kingdom of Varanasi, with the name of Arittha Kumara. When he was 16 years old, he thought he wanted to become an ascetic living in the forest. So he went to ask for permission from his father and the mother. When the king heard that, he was not pleased and drove the kumara out of the palace. The Kumara fled to the forest of Himavanta and became an ascetic there. Later, he attained a level of the supreme state of the Dhamma. Colophon: Folio 26 on the recto side: Sangkatrasa (CS) 1290, a kat mao year, on the second day of the waxing moon of the first lunar month, the fifth day of the week (Thursday), the writing was accomplished at the time of kòng ngai (between 7.30–9.00 o’clock). The initiator, Sao Phio sponsored the making of this manuscript [entitled] 50 Sāt (Fifty former existences of the Buddha), to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May my desires and wishes come true. May this be a condition for us to reach Nirvana.
