Somphamit Jataka. On one occasion, the Buddha was dwelling at the Jetavana monastery in Savatthi giving a sermon about the story of Devadatta Thera. Once upon a time, a king named Somphamit ruled a great city called Champa. He had his queen named Kaeoketsani Sivorakanna Devi and two sons named Sayasena and Sayadatta. The king also had a younger brother, Asomphamit. One day, Asomphamit planned to assassinate King Somphamit for the royal throne. Fortunately, one loyal pasha informed the king. Then the king along with his queen and two sons escaped from his kingdom. They traveled into a forest where they were in danger and getting suffering.
