Sòng saphān means the rewards derived from the contruction of bridges for monks and the public. In the time of Kakusandha Buddha, there was a couple of husband and wife who saw the road that monks used for their alms round and other people used for traveling was dirty and covered with mud. They thought to renovate it but they did not have money to do so. So they went to work for money. When they had the money, they built the bridge according to their intention and donated it as alms. After the death, they were born in the heaven with a gold castle of 50 yojana high and surrounded by 20,000 goddesses. Colophon: Folio 9 on the recto side: Chunlasangkatrasa (CS) 1294, a tao san year, on the fourteenth day of the waxing moon of the sixth lunar month, the fourth day of the week (Wednesday), the writing was accomplished at the time of kòng ngai (between 7.30–9.00 o’clock). Sao Phomma sponsored the palm leaves and Rattanapannya is the scribe, sponsored the making of this manuscript [entitled] Ᾱnisong Phāchamnamphansā and Ᾱnisong Sāngsaphān (Rewards derived from the donation of the rains-robes and the construction of bridges), to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May the results of this merit be a condition for Nirvana and cut the five obstructions off and reach Nirvana as my wishes. Arahantī homi nibbāna paccayo honto no niccaṃ dhuvaṃ (May I obtain Arahantship. May this be a condition for us to reach Nirvana, constantly and certainly).
