The content tells one occasion, while dwelling at the Jetavanna monaster in Savatthi, the Buddha mentioned about his performing of perfection. His first perfection called dāna parami (the perfection of generosity). Then the Buddha delivered this sermon to Venerable Ananda and other monks. In the past, the Buddha was born in many existences. Some lives he was born as animals such as insects, snake, elephant, lion, and etc. He regularly performed the perfection of generosity. His latest existence before becoming the Blessed One, he was born as Prince Vessantara and did the ultimate perfection.
