The Story of Deva Ankura. While residing in Tavatimsa deva realm to expound the Abhidhamma to Deva Santusita, who had been his mother. During the time, a deva named Ankura came and asked the Buddha about the reason for the discrepancy in gaining the benefits between of his own and of Indaka. To him the Buddha nswered, "Oh deva! When giving charities and donations you should choose whom you give, for acts of charities are just like seeds. Seeds put into fertile soil will grow into strong, vigorous plants or trees and will bear much fruit; but you had sown your seed in poor soil, so you reap poorly." Colophon: Folio 26 on the recto side: Chunlasangkatrasa 196 (corresponding with CS 1196), a kap sanga year, the second day of the waning moon of the tenth lunar month, the sixth day of the week (Friday), a kat hao day, the writing was accomplished at the time of thae kai kham (between 15.00-16.30 o’clock). Chao Maha Phutthavongsa Viriya[pan]nya from Vat Phonsaiyaramathipadi had the most ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript [entitled] Thammapattha, to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May wishes and desires come true. May this be a condition to reach Nibbāna.
