Samantapāsādikā is a commentary on the Vinaya Pitaka. The text is written in the Nissaya style (word by word translations from Pali) used for Pali study in the higher level. Samantapāsādikā means "All pleasing" was written by Buddhaghosa in Sri Lanka in the 5th century. In brief, the content is divided into two types: (1) the main content related the Dhamma and Vinaya such as the cause of the first Buddhist Council, the second, 3rd and 4th. (2) there are explanations on the nine virtues of the Buddha, mindfulness, concentration, practice, mind, spirit, organic matter, and explanations of the Pārājika, Sanghadisesa, etc., both for monks and female monks. Colophons: (1) Folio 1 on the recto side: Sapsamanta, fascicle 2. Sangkat 8 (corresponding with CS 1008), a hwai set year, the first day of the waxing moon of the first lunar month, the sixth day of the week (Friday). Nang Mün Posukula sponsored the making of this manuscript [entitled] Sabsamanta, to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. Sap Samantapāsātük, fascicle 5. (2) Folio 31 on the verso side: Sabsamanta, fascicle 5. Sangkat 5 (corresponding with CS 1008), a hwai set year, the first day of the waxing moon of the first lunar month, the sixth day of the week (Friday). Nang Mün Posukula sponsored the making of this manuscript [entitled] Sap Samantapāsāthikā. This manuscript belongs to Huachao Utthaphai.
