Sòng thammat means the rewards derived from making a preaching chair and offer it to a monastery. On one occasion while residing at the Jetavana monastery in Savatthi, the Buddha spoke to his disciples about a man and then gave this sermon. In the time of Vipassi Buddha, there was man lived in Baddiyanakhon. The man had the ardent religious faith and spent his money to make a preaching chair with a staircase of five gold goats for steping on up and down. When finished, he offered the chair to Vipassi Buddha. After death, he was reborn as a devaputta in Tavatimsa heaven with a gold castle decorated with seven kinds of crystal, 50 yot hight and 20 yot width. The devaputta had one thousand angels as his fellows. After the heaven, he was reborn as Mendakasetthi in Benares.
