The text tells about marananussati (recollection of death) that is to realize that death is common. We are not able to free from death. Our lives are not impermanent. Death is permanent. Whenever a birth arises, it passes forwards its end commonly. Thus, we should be hurry to make merit. Because, the merit will follow us in all existences. One who regularly develops marananussati will see sense of urgency of the life. The person is careless, abstains from doing evil, practices morality and develops wisdom for approaching the freedom. Colophon: Folio 13 on the recto side: Chunlasangkat 1200 and 2 (corresponding with CS 1202), a kot chai year, the full moon day of the seventh lunar month, a hap sai day, the second day of the week (Monday). The writing was accomplished in the afternoon (between 12.00–13.30 o’clock). Maha Sangkharasa (Great abbot) of Vat Chumkhòng had the religious faith to sponsor the making of the manuscript entitled Phutthanutsati kammatthan for the Teachings of Gotama Buddha to last until the end 5000 years. May I see the face of Pha Si Ariya Mettey Bodhisatta who will come in the future, not be ignored. May this a condition for me to reach Nibbāna constantly. Xiang Kaeo Mungkhun is the scribe.
