கஞ்சன் அம்மாணை

This material is a Tamil palm-leaf manuscript titled” Kañcaṉ am'māṇai” from the Eastern region, Sri Lanka. It is related to Lord Krisha’s life story. The manuscript is written in Am'māṇai format. Am'māṇai is an Tamil musical form . The songs are sung in Am'māṇai rhythm called Am'māṇai. The manuscript is given to Muttuppiḷḷai son of Kaṇṇāppaṇikkap pōṭi. It was written in the year Vipava varuṭam, the month Vaikāci. The manuscript belonged to 600 centuries. This story is recited at the annual temple festival in Timilaitīvu Vishnu Temple. It contains stories such as Kaṇapati tuṇai kaṇṇaṉ piṟappu, yacōtai vaḷarppu, and kamcaṉai aḻittamai. It also includes Teyvēntiraṉum tēvarkaḷum vantu cuvāmikku apiṣēkam ceytamai. Uruppiṉi kalyāṇam,kāṭiyā kāṉaka katai,nākaṉ uyirttamai,vāṉ uyittamai,vācutēvaṉ uyirttamai, and kāci rācaṉ uyittamai. The manuscript was copied by Cu. Vittiyāṉantaṉ. He published as a book in 1971.
