The work was composed at a request of monk (mahāthera) bearing the title Tilokābhilaṅkāra [mahādhammarājaguru]. This title was held at that time by Cac kuiṅḥ Rhve umaṅ Charā tau Tejosāra which makes him a likely candidate given his residence in the same city as the author. The author was a disciple of Toṅ Tvaṅḥ Charā tau Ñāṇālaṅkāra mahādhammarājaguru, popularly known as Khaṅ krīḥ Phyau.
