EAP1580
Aims and objectives
One of the most important photographic archives in the southern Peruvian Andes, the Vargas Hnos archive (Arequipa, 1912-1960), is in need of rescue. For the first stage of EAP1580, approximately 11,627 gelatine silver photographic negatives on a glass support will be selected to go through a process of cleaning, cataloguing, digitisation and conservation. Safeguarding the physical material and historical images will allow the collection to be disseminated and made available to researchers, academics and the general public.
