King Brahmadata ruled Benares, he ordered Prince Nanda Kumara to find three royal daughters in Hummaphan forest, a distance of 70 leagues (yojanas) between Benares and the forest. When the prince met Princess Malika, he was fallen in love with her. Then they both were fallen in love with each other. The initiators, Saen Mai Thit Ònsi and his wife Saen Kaeo sponsored the making of this manuscript entitled Malikā to dedicate to Phò Phaeng, Sao Bun and Sao Uan.
