Akaravattasut is one of the greatest suttas. No other suttas are able to compare. It is integrated the Sutta, the Vinaya, and Abhidhamma Pitakas. The contents are verses in Pali and explanation in Lao. On one occasion, while residing at the Gijjhakuta hill, the Buddha spoke to Venerable Sariputta on this Akaravatta Sutta. The verses of Akaravattasut are more powerful than other suttas in the protection from all dangers for those who regularly keep these verses in mind. All sins will not be a ble to penetrate into the nature by the power of this Akaravattasut. Whoever listened to it, written it by himself, or hired someone else to write it for him, memorised it, taught it to others, worshiped and respected it, regularly recited it in meditation will be free from 30 kinds of dangers. Colophon: Folio 21 on the recto side: In Chunlasangkatrasa (CS) 1274, a tao chai year, on the ninth day of the waxing moon of the twelfth lunar month, the second day of the week (Monday). The initiator, Pa (aunt) Khambut from Hua Phon village together with all her children had the ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this first manuscript-fascicle [entitled] Akaravattasut, in a full set of three fascicles, to support the Teachings of Gotama Buddha. May we be free from going to the four low states of existence. Even if we are going to a suffering place, may we be moved to a good place, definitely. On the other hand, may we enter into the crystal city which called Nirvana. May our wishes and desires come true. Nibbānaṃ paramaṃ sukhaṃ niccaṃ dhuvaṃ (Nibbāna is the greatest bliss, constantly and certainly). Moreover, may the results of this merit support those who already died, to escape from the round of rebirths in this life and the future lives.
