The story of Phanya Tham (a righteous king). Once upon a time, there was an old man who supported his wife and children by farming in a forest called Takkakhili. His farm was full of fruits and thus all the animals in that area came to eat the fruits in the farm. At that time, the Buddha and Ananda Thera walked through that farm. But the old man was chasing the animals, so he did not see the Buddha. He stepped on the shadow of the Buddha. Later, he saw the Buddha and took seven cucumbers to offer him. After having meal with the cucumber, the Buddha smiled. Ananda Thera asked the Buddha about the cause of his smile. The Buddha said that, the old man who offered the cucumber to us will become the great righteous king when his teachings have passed 3,000 years. The man will be born in the family of poor people because he stepped on the shadow of the Buddha. Then he will have an ugly figure, but he will have a beautiful figure later due to the results of his offering of the cucumbers to the Buddha.
