Prayer text written in Pali is used by monks, novices and lay Buddhists in a chanting ceremony. The content is the Abhidhamma on the four ultimate realities including 1. Citta: consciousness, state of consciousness, 2. Cetasika: mental factors, 3. Rūpa: matter, corporeality, and 4. Nirvana: state in which all defilements and suffering are eliminated. Colophon: Folio 28 on the recto side: Sangkatrasa 2318 (corresponding with CS 1218), a hwai si year, on the fourteenth day of the waning moon of the twelfth lunar month, the fourth day of the week (Wednesday), a ka pao day, [the writing was accomplished] at the time of thiang van (between 10.30–12.00 o’clock). Uncle Achan Suk together with parent, siblings and relatives had the religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript [entitled] Sutmon kang (Prayers in the middle length) to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. Nibbāna paccayo hontu no dhuvaṃ dhuvaṃ (May this be a condition for us to reach Nibbāna, certainly and certainly).
