The Beating series deals with a set of offences related to article 303 of the Penal Code of 1890 (‘Offending someone physically, producing pain or some injury to the body, although without bloodshed’), with aggravating factors defined in article 39 of the Penal Code, subsections 4 (‘The offender was impelled by a reprobate or frivolous motive’) and/or 5 (‘The offender was superior in sex, strength or weapons, so that the offended person could not defend himself with the probability of repelling the offence’), in the period from 1903 to 1905.
A série Espancamento trata de um conjunto de infrações relacionadas ao artigo 303 do Código Penal de 1890 (“Offender physicamente alguem, produzindo-lhe dôr ou alguma lesão no corpo, embora sem derramamento de sangue”), com agravantes definidos no artigo 39, incisos 4 (“Ter o delinquente sido impellido por motivo reprovado ou frivolo”) e/ou 5 (“Ter o delinquente superioridade em sexo, força ou armas, de modo que o offendido não pudesse defender-se com probabilidade de repellir a offensa”), no período de 1903 a 1905.
