Kathavatthu (Subjects of discussion) is the fifth book of the Abhidhamma. The statement of the opinions of controversy occurred among the various schools during the third Great Assemble. Some of the content is written in Pali and some in Lao tells the principles or useful words which are for refining the passion, cessation of suffering, boredom, peacefulness, enlightenment and Nirvana. Colophon: Folio 31 on the recto side: Sangkat (CS) 1256, a kap sanga year, on the tenth day of the waning moon of the tenth lunar month, a huang mot day, the first day of the week (Sunday), the writing of this manuscript was accomplished at the time of kòng ngai (between 7.30–9.00 o’clock). The initiator, Chao Hua Si Nòrakhut and all his children and relatives had the ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript entitled Abhidhamma to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years.
