The content tells about the observance of the precepts according to their duties, which means that the lay people observe the five and eight precepts perfectly; novices must observe the ten precepts, while the monks must observe the 227 precepts according to the Buddhist ordinance. The observance of the precepts is to control oneself to be in a normal state both physically, verbally and mentally. Therefore, the observance of the precepts is a way of making merit because we have the intention to abstain from evil, wrong conducts and all kinds of bad things, with the intention of not offending anyone, aiming for a state of peace and wholesome, allowing the flow of goodness and kindness to arise in the mind.
