The Abhidhamma on the 10 types of kilesa (defilements) in the mental factors such as desires. The defilements are devils and obsession preventing good deeds and induce evil deeds that cause the minds to be depressed and unable to attain enlightenment. They are: 1. Lobha: greed 2. Dosa: hatred 3. Moha: delusion 4. Māna: conceit 5. Diṭṭhi: wrong view 6. Vicikicchā: doubt, uncertainty 7. Thīna: sloth 8. Uddhacca: restlessness 9. Ahikira: shamelessness 10. Anottappa: lack of moral dread.
