ໃນສະໄໝໜຶ່ງ ພະຜູ້ມີພະພາກເຈົ້າຊົງປະທັບຢູ່ວັດເຊຕະວັນ ເມືອງສາວັດຖີ ດ້ຕັດເທສະໜາເລື່ອງອານິສົງການສ້າງພະໄຕປິດົກແກ່ພະສາຣີບຸດເຖລະເຈົ້າ ໄດ້ເຂົ້າເຝົ້າພະສາດສະດາ ແລ້ວທູນຖາມເລື່ອງນີ້. ພະພຸດທະອົງຕັດວ່າ ນໍລະຍິງຊາຍຜູ້ໃດມີສັດທາເຫຼື້ອມໃສໄດ້ສ້າງໜັງສືພະໄຕປິດົກທີ່ບັນຈຸຄໍາສອນຂອງພະພຸດທະເຈົ້າ ເພື່ອສືບອາຍຸພະພຸດທະສາສະໜາໃຫ້ຍືນຍາວ ຈະໄດ້ຮັບຜະລະອານິສົງອັນຍິ່ງໃຫຍ່ໄພສານຫາປະມານບໍ່ໄດ້ ຈະປາດຖະໜາສິ່ງໃດກໍ່ຈະໄດ້ສໍາເລັດດັ່ງເຈດຕະນາທຸກປະການ. ເມື່ອສິ້ນອາຍຸໄຂແລ້ວ ຈະໄດ້ໄປເກີດໃນສະຫວັນເປັນພະຍາອິນ ແລະຫຼັງຈາກນັ້ນ ຈະໄດ້ລົງມາເກີດໃນເມືອງມະນຸດເປັນພະເຈົ້າຈັກກະພັດ ເປັນເວລາຫຼາຍຊາດ.
On one occasion, while residing at the Jetavana monastery in Savatthi, the Buddha gave a sermon on the merit derived from making the manuscripts of the Tipitaka (the three baskets) to Sariputta Thera who came to the presence of the Buddha and asked the Buddha about this. The Buddha said that any women or men who have the ardent religious faith made the manuscripts of the Buddha’s teachings in order to support the Teachings of the Buddha will gain great merit incalculably. Their wishes will come true in any aspects. After death, they will be reborn in the heaven as king of the gods (Indra). Thereafter, they will reborn again in the human wolrd as emperors for many existences.
