During 1695, Manuel Sánchez de Vargas made notarial proceedings that spanned from folio 1r to 30r. These processes were subsequently carried out by Juan García de Ordaz for a brief period and finally by the town magistrate, Lorenzo Guerra Peláez. This happened because the villa of Medellín lacked a public notary and a villa council.
