Al-Qustas: An independent Lebanese weekly newspaper published in Mexico City. Founded by Farid Slim in 1937, its editor-in-chief was Khalil Daher. Upon Farid Slim’s death on November 17, 1951, Hanna Aoun took over its managerial reins as of December 24 of that same year. Al-Kustas was a go-to source of information for the Lebanese at home and across the diaspora worldwide. It covered local, regional, and international news in addition to politics, the economy, sports, culture, and lifestyle.
القسطاس: جريدة لبنانيّة مستقلّة تصدر مرّة في الأسبوع في مكسيكو العاصمة (الجمهوريّة المكسيكيّة). أسّسها فريد سليم سنة 1937، وكان رئيس تحريرها خليل ضاهر. توفي فريد سليم في 17 تشرين الثاني 1951 وتولّى إدارتها حنّا عون ابتداءً من 24 كانون الأوّل 1951. شكّلت "القسطاس" مصدر معلومات شائع للمواطنين اللبنانيّين وكذلك للّبنانيّين في الشتات من حول العالم، وكانت تغطّي الأخبار المحلّية والإقليميّة والدوليّة، إلى جانب السياسة والاقتصاد والرياضة والثقافة ونمط الحياة.

Custodial history: Ninawa Daher foundation, the heirs of the collection, has entrusted USEK Library to protect it from being lost.
