The Patimokkha text in Pali used by monks to be recited at the ceremony of Patimokkha called Uposot (Uposatha) on the Buddhist holi days on the 15th day of the waxing moon and 15th day of the waning moon of the lumanr months of 30 days and on the 14th day of the waning moon of the lumanr months of 29 days. The content tells on how the Uposatha ceremony is and the 227 rules of bhikkhus. Listening to the recitation of Patimokkha is an important duty of the Sangha and is the formal act of the Sangha only, and is to review the 227 rules of bhikkhus and the harmony of the Sangha community. Colophons: (1) Folio 49 on the recto side: Sangkat 1271, a kat hao year, on the fifth day of the waxing moon of the second lunar month, the seventh day of the week (Saturday), the writing was accomplished at the time of kòng ngai (between 7.30–9.00 o’clock). The initiator, Princess Pòng together with all her children, grandchildren and siblings jointly sponsored the making of this manuscript entitled Patimokkha to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May all our desires and wishes come true along with my wishes. May I be free from the state of Saṁsāra (round of the rebirths) and reach the three states of happiness, definitely and constantly. Nirvana is the greatest bliss.
