Dhātukathā (Discourse on elements) is the third book of the Abhidhamma. That is a collection of different topics of the Dhamma into the elements, aggregates, and spheres. Some of the content is written in Pali and some in Lao tells about the Dhamma that are compatible and incompatible. There are five sections: 1. Naya matika: Methods. There are 14 sections. 2. Abhantarama Matika: Internal states of enquiry. There are 22 sections. 3. Nayamukha Matika: Principles of the methods. There are 4 sections. 4. Lakkhana Matika: Characteristics of the methods. There are 2 sections. 5. Bahira Matika: External states of enquiry. There are 3 sections. Colophon: Folio 44 on the recto side: Sisumangkhala Sangkat (CS) 1292, a kot sanga year, on the fifteenth day of the waxing moon of the seventh lunar month, the fourth day of the week (Wednesday), the writing was accomplished at the time of kòng ngai (between 7.30–9.00 o’clock). The initiator, Rattanapannya sponsored the making of this manuscript entitled Phra That Katha (Dhātukathā) to dedicate to my mother named Sao La and my father named Nai (Mr) Küm, to Aunt Man and Uncle Òn and to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May the results of this merit be a condition for Nirvana and cut the five obstructions off and reach Nirvana as my wishes.
