ໃນສະໄໝໜຶ່ງ ພະຜູ້ມີພະພາກເຈົ້າຊົງປະທັບຢູ່ວັດເຊຕະວັນ ເມືອງສາວັດຖີ ໃນຄັ້ງນັ້ນພະສາລີບຸດໄດ້ທູນຖາມພະພຸດອົງ ເຖິງອານິສົງຂອງການສ້າງໜັງສືພະໄຕປິຕະກະທັງ ໓ ອັນເປັນຄໍາສອນແຫ່ງສັບພັນຍູເຈົ້າ. ພະພຸດທະອົງໄດ້ຕັດວ່າ ບຸກຄົນຜູ້ໃດມີຈິດໃຈເຫຼື້ອມໃສສັດທາໄດ້ສ້າງໄຕປິຕະກະທັງ ໓ ອັນເປັນທໍາຄໍາສັ່ງສອນຂອງຕະຖາຄົດ ດ້ວຍຕົນເອງກໍ່ດີ ດ້ວຍການຈ້າງໃຫ້ຄົນອື່ນຂຽນໃຫ້ກໍ່ດີ ຈະໄດ້ຜະລະອານິສົງເປັນອັນມາກ ຈະໄດ້ເປັນພະຍາແກ່ເທວະດາອັນຢູ່ເທິງແຜ່ນດິນໄດ້ ໙ ອະສົງໄຂ ຄັນວ່າຕາຍຈາກອັນເປັນພະຍາແກ່ພູມເທວະດາທີ່ນັ້ນແລ້ວ ກໍ່ຈະໄດ້ເປັນພະຍາແກ່ອາກາສະເທວະດາໃນສະຫວັນຊັ້ນດຸສິດ ໙ ອະສົງໄຂ. ຄໍາລົງທ້າຍ: ລານທີ ໘ ໜ້າ ໑ ແລະ ໒: ພຸດທະສັງກາດຣາຊະໄດ້ ໒໔໙໔ ຕົວ ປີຮ້ວງເໝົ້າ ເດືອນ ໘ ແຮມ ແຮມ ໑໓ ຄໍ່າ ພໍ່າວ່າໄດ້ວັນ ໓ ມື້ເຕົ່າສັນ ຣິດຈະນາແລ້ວຍາມກອງແລງ ໝາຍມີ ໂພທິປັນຍາ ວັດຊຽງຍືນສາທຸພໍ່ພັນມີໃຈໃສສັດທາເປັນອັນຍິ່ງ ຈິ່ງໄດ້ສ້າງ ສອງໜັງສືທໍາ ຜູກນີ້ ທານໄວ້ກັບສາສະໜາພະພຸດທະເຈົ້າ ຕາບຕໍ່ເທົ້າ ໕໐໐໐ ພະວັດສາ ຜູ້ຂ້າຂໍໃຫ້ໄດ້ດັ່ງຄໍາມັກຄໍາປາດຖະໜາທຸກເຍື່ອງທຸກປະການແດ່ກໍ່ຂ້າເທີ້ນ ນິດຈັງ ທຸວັງ ປະຣະມັງ ສຸກຂັງ. ອັນໜຶ່ງ ຂໍຜະລະອັນນີ້ເປັນປັດໄຈຍະແກ່ຜູ້ຂ້າຊົ່ວນີ້ຊົ່ວໜ້າເຖິງພະນີຣະພານແດ່ກໍ່ຂ້າເທີ້ນ. ສາທຸ ຜູ້ຂ້າທິດຜູຍຕາແສງເປັນຜູ້ຂຽນ ຂໍໂມທະນາແດ່ຂະນ້ອຍເທີ້ນ ສາທຸ ສາທຸ ອະນຸໂມທາມິ ນິດຈັງ ທຸວັງ ປາລະມັງ ສຸກຂັງ.
On one occasion, while the Buddha was dwelling at the Jetavana monastery in Savatthi, Venerable Sariputta Thera questioned the Buddha about the merit derived from making the manuscripts of the Tipitaka that contain the Teachings of the Buddha. Then the Buddha delivered a sermon describing about the merit derived from making the manuscripts. One who has the ardent religious faith to write or make the manuscript of the Tipitaka that contain the Teachings of the Buddha by oneself or to hire other to write for, would gain much results of the good deed. The one will become emperors, Indra for many existences. Colophon: Folio 8 on the recto and verso sides: Buddhist Era (BE) 2494, a huang mao year, on the thirteenth day of the waning moon of the eighth lunar month, the third day of the week (Tuesday), the writing was accomplished at the time of kòng laeng (between 13.30–15.00 o’clock). Phothipannya or Sathu Phò Phan from Vat Xiang Yün had the ardent religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript [entitled] Sòng Nangsü (Rewards derived from the donation of the religious books or Buddhist canon), to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May all my desires and wishes come true, constantly and certainly, the greatest bliss. On the other hand, may the results of this merit be a condition for me through this life and the future lives until entering into Nirvana. Well done, well done. I am Thit Phui, head of the sub-district is the scribe. I may rejoice. Well done, well done, congratulation, constantly and certainly, the greatest bliss.
