When the Buddha wished to preach what he had discovered to people with his compassion. First, the Buddha thought of his former teachers named Alara Kalama and Udaka Ramaputta. Later he acknowledged by his meditation that both of them already died. Thus, the Buddha thought of his former five disciples living at Isipatana Marugadayavanna in Benares. Then the Buddha went to Isipatana and delivered the first sermon called Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta to the five ascetics. Colophon: Folio 25 on the recto side: Sangkat (CS) 1276, a ka pao year, on the ninth day of the waning moon of the second lunar month, the third day of the week (Tuesday), a hwai si day, the writing of this manuscript was accomplished at the time of kòng ngai (between 7.30–9.00 o’clock). The initiator, Sao Pan together with all her parent and children had the religious faith to sponsor the making of this manuscript entitled Papphatsa Khan (Pabbajjā) to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May all our wishes and desires come true. Nibbāna paccayo hontu niccaṃ dhuvaṃ paramaṃ sukhaṃ (May this be a condition for us to reach Nirvanaa, constantly and certainly, the greatest bliss).
