Description: The second book of Baptismal certificates corresponds to the baptismal ceremonies celebrated in the parish of San Geronimo, located in the city of Monteria, in the year of 1808. The registration of each one of these ceremonies is called "oficio". Each "oficio" shows the name of the parish, the exact date the ceremony took place, the names of the parents of the baptized, the name of their godparents, whose spiritual kinship ánd obligations are established. On the left side of the sheets is the name of the baptized. Important members of the "monteriana" high society are mentioned there, for example, José María del Toro y Estrella, Manuel José Berástegui, Santiago Mariano de Dios y Canaval and José Manuel Pérez. Physical condition of original material: Cover of cardboard covered in red leatherette and taxed golden letters. Folios lack numbering but consists of 197 leaves and 1,200 offices approximately. 78% of the book is in good condition. Physical extent of original material: 1 volume, manuscript.
