Bibliotecas y Recreos Infantiles [1930s-1950s]

Description: The Asociación de Bibliotecas y Recreos Infantiles was an association created by Socialist women for the organisation and expansion of libraries for the workers’ children in Argentina. One of the Socialist women’s main goals was to offer to the families and the children a space for recreation in lieu of the streets. This initiative was taking place in a country that did not have special libraries for children. This association created libraries in different Socialist centers in Buenos Aires in 1912 although the official opening took place on April 19, 1913. See, Nicolás M.
