Sutta Sīlakkhandhavagga porāṇaṭīkā (Līnatthappakāsanā) pāṭha

Single-text palm-leaf manuscript. Plain teak covers. Red lac. leaves. Woven cotton wrapper with wool mix. Līnatthappakāsanā is a Pali subcommentary explaining difficult points in the commentarial work Sumaṅgalavilāsinī. In its turn, Sumaṅgalavilāsinī provides exegesis on the canonical text of Dīghanikāya, a collection of long discourses of the Buddha. Sīlakkhandhavagga is the first of the three major codicological units making up Dīghanikāya, this division being kept in the commentaries as well. This text is known as the "old" subcommentary because of the existence of a newer subcommentary composed by Burmese monk Ñāṇābhivaṃsa dhammasenapati mahādhammarājādhirājaguru in 1801. Extent: One bundle comprised of 266 inscribed palm-leaf folios (ff. ka-phaṃ) organized into four fascicles without changes in the layout of the folios. Two plain teak covers.
