Aims and objectives
EAP1616 will digitise the archives of Utkal Sahitya Samaj, a learned society in Odisha dating back to the British colonial period. The project targets the preservation of magazines and newspapers in this archive, safeguarding cultural and historical artefacts at risk of loss and deterioration. These publications cover a range of topics including literature, social issues, health and education, providing valuable insights into Odisha's rich cultural and intellectual history. A few magazines reflect influential editorial perspectives, while some offer a fearless historical critique, collectively enhancing our understanding of the region's socio-cultural fabric.
