Aims and objectives
The project proposes to digitise a universe of 8,885 Chilean postcards which date approximately from 1876 to 1945 and to make them digitally available through the Museo Histórico Nacional’s online photography repository. The postcards depict different places in Chile, from Arica to Magallanes, in addition to other significant subjects such as native peoples, centenary of Chile, monuments, landmarks and others. The project will have the help of a group of professionals who will carry out the tasks of preventive conservation, inventory, documentation and digitisation.
