Lay people were listening to a chanting in the Sim at Vat Saen Sukharam on Het Bun (merit-making ceremony) dedicated to Somdej Pha Sangkhalat Dhammayana Maha Thela (Bunthan Bupharat) of Vat Mai Suvannaphumaram , the last Supreme Patriach of Laos who was a preceptor for his monk's ordination and Pha Kaenchan Kaccayana Maha Thela, former abbot of Vat Saen Sukharam who was a preceptor for his novice's ordination. The ceremony took place at the Sim of Vat Saen Sukharam in 1984, under the ceremonial chairman of Somdej Pha Loukkeo Silasangvaro (Pha Khamfan Silasangvara Maha Thela), Abbot of Vat Suvanna Khili.
